On a beautiful sunny day, Bridgeport Public School held their annual Family Picnic in support of Free the Children!
This longstanding community event gave parents the opportunity to spend time with their children on school property, in an old-fashioned, blanket on the ground style picnic. To make the day more exciting, the Grade 6 Me to We club students organized a bunch of fair-like events, such as sack, three-legged, and egg-spoon races.
But, it wouldn’t be a year-end celebration without getting the teachers involved! Guests and students were able to purchase tickets to soak or throw a pie-in-the-face to a Bridgeport PS staff member; face painting, raffle tickets and bracelets were also on sale.
A big thank you to Bridgeport PS School Council who joined in the fun and helped with pizza sales!
This event is always a great way to bring the school and its families together, in a social setting, where strong bonds and relationships can be made and celebrated.
Bridgeport PS raised over $300 for Free the Children. Congratulations!
