As you are aware, there was a significant Waterloo Regional Police Services presence on Bridgeport School property for most of the day today. Full details are not known at this time, however we do know that it was a mobile command post that was established as WRPS worked to locate a missing person in the area. The Waterloo Region District School Board and the Waterloo Regional Police Services work together and maintain a strong partnership. As such, it is not uncommon for us to share our property with WRPS when needed. At no time today was there a threat to student or staff safety. The WRPS mobile command post has ended their presence at Bridgeport PS and have vacated the property. We thank our entire community for their understanding and patience today.
