The mandate of the Greening Committee is to expand upon the existing outdoor learning initiatives of Bridgeport Public School. By collaborating with staff, students and parents, our goal is to create opportunities for staff and students to learn about the environment as well as to promote health and wellness within the school and surrounding community. The School Council Greening Committee was formed in October 2016. Parent volunteers are welcome to join at any time.
The goal of the greening plan is to provide shade, wind protection and an outdoor natural play/learning environment that benefits staff and students. This is planned as the first phase of a larger greening initiative that will incorporate continued input from the school community as plans progress. See the links on the left of this page for details about the 2017 site plan, cost, and timeline.
You Can Help!
Help us to make this greening plan a reality and donate to the dance-a-thon!
Be a part of the Bridgeport Public School history! If your family collectively donates a total of $150 or more,
your family name can be included on a family donation plaque to commemorate the greening space.
Parent volunteers and ‘Green Team’ students will be needed to help water the trees daily.
