Bridgeport Public School has been a fixture in the community of Bridgeport since 1959.  It is home to approximately 400 students and focuses on quality education, inclusive learning and strong values. The school recently identified a need for new playground equipment to ensure safe accessible play for all students at Bridgeport Public School. Due to priorities and limited budgets, playground improvements are ultimately the responsibility of the school council and our school community.

To ensure a quality well rounded curriculum, physical exercise is a critical part of our students’ daily activities. Physical activity comes in the form of team sports, field-based activities and time on playground equipment.

The proposed playground designs offer two accessible play areas – a primary play space that incorporates imaginative play, climbing, sliding and moving fun; and a junior challenge circuit featuring balance, climbing, upper body movement and music. There is sure to be something for all ages and interests (final design to be determined)!

The past few years have resulted in a ‘renewal’ for Bridgeport Public School, with the refurbished Bridgeport bell and planting of the green space.  The school has also received new flooring in the school and a resurfaced parking lot.
